I made a batch of 8 cotton pillowcases in fun fabrics and borders for a charity called ConKerr Cancer. I’ll be dropping them off when we go through Pennsylvania in October. http://www.conkerrcancer.org

  1. Neat! What where the measurements you used for these pillowcases? I made some recently, but not with fancy borders like yours. Is that just a 6″ wide strip sewn on the end? Or is it 12″ folded over?

  2. Hi Jean! I used the instructions provided at the ConKerr Cancer Website. Here’s a cut and paste:

    Standard Pillowcase

    * 3/4 yard of fabric for pillowcase
    * 1/3 yard of fabric for border of pillowcase

    Sewing Instructions:

    1. Cut the body of the case 26 1/2″ x 40 1/2″ and the border 10 1/2″ x 40 1/2″.
    2. Fold the border in half lengthwise, with the wrong sides together, and press.
    3. Place the right side of the border on the right side of the body of the case. Stitch together using a 1/2″ seam allowance.
    4. Place right sides of the pillowcase together. Stitch down the side and across the bottom. Turn to the right side and press.

    Thanks for visiting my blog!
